Mercedes-AMG made a 4.0 liter, relatively small displacement V8 with greater efficiency and, if Chris Harris is to be believed, (see 11:35)

can handle much more horsepower.

AMG should adapt it for racing and go to Le Mans. Audi vs. Porsche vs. Mercedes woul be an unprecedented Le Mans battle, and also a great redeemer to AMG after the failure of the CLK-LM flipping cars. It would also be good for Mercedes hybrid technology.

And also I just really want to see AMG at Le Mans during it out

I’ll back it up, that engine is very under stressed at the moment. Easiest way to look at it is like this: CLA45 has a ~360hp 2.0L 4 cylinder. M177/178 is basically two of those. That 4 cylinder will hold up to over 400hp just fine. Double it and in theory the V8 should be capable of 7-800hp, so expect to see an AMG GT with somewhere around 600hp, or hopefully more, in the future. Those two engines share quite a lot of components and dimensions. The key issue with giving the V8 more power is heat management. They’ve left room to make higher performance variants of these cars in the future, such as black series (which has not yet been confirmed AFIK). The folks at AMG have more or less said all of this as well, both in interviews and in a handful of conversations I’ve had with them.

Still if AMG could transfer ridiculous F1 success to a Le Mans win they'd pretty much be set

As well, that 800-850 horsepower engine plus 200 horses or more of hybrid power means 1000 plus, which is what Porsche and Audi are running

No kidding. That would be fantastic. They have the technology.

Just a quick question, what does the future have in store for the AMG V-12s ?

I wish I knew. I talked to someone very high up at AMG last fall and asked/suggested if they were going to make a new generation of V12 possibly based on the M278/M157 and received only a mischievous smile and the words “I can’t confirm or deny anything at this point” in return.
